Default Requesting to See Other\'s Hands

This happened at my table (not too me.) Pot was HU on the turn. EP player bet both turn and river and was called by the Button. EP showed her hand, Button knocked the table and mucked. EP said 'I want to see his cards' and dealer flipped them over. Button appeared not to care.

As I understand it, technically EP is allowed to ask to see the cards, but isn’t the rule in place in case collusion is expected? Obviously in a HU put, that isn’t an issue. Should Button have been upset or am I missing something?

Rule exists to prevent collusion, if that's not the reason the cards are being asked to be seen, then it's an angle shoot and goes in my mental notebook, with the word, DOUCHE next to the IDIOT's name!

It's only 'yes' if you're a petty, whiny bitch. Then go ahead and be 'upset'.

Better things to worry about than someone asking to see your hand.

Is it petty and whiny to be pissed that someone asked to see your cards although you mucked? yep

Is that person a prick for asking? yep

Rules are rules, and if the rules allow it, nobody should be upset by it. In any game you need to know and utilize all oportunities that are within the rules.

[/ QUOTE ] I changed my mind, I'll bite. The rule is in place to protect against collusion. As a floor, I won't allow a player to ask to see an opponents mucked hand unless he has a valid reason. (collusion) I won't allow it for informational purposes. 99% of the time I ask for a reason the responce is "I just want to see what he has". 99% of the time the hand remains mucked. I'm ready for the war now.
