Panasonic is pretty much the standard for plasmas unless you want to spend a ton of money.
One suggestion: Panasonic just released a press release that stated they are dropping prices. MSRP for the 42" version of that plasma will be selling for $999 within the next few months. I'd wait for that. |

On quick glace, that's a decent TV, but you can get a bigger and better Panny for not that much more. That's too much to pay for a 37 inch TV imo.

does plasma vs lcd really make a diff? [/ QUOTE ] Not a very meaingful one. I liked plasma better. Some people like LCDs. The difference isn't going to be much, especially if you're just upgrading from a regular TV. It'll all look like sex to you. The biggest issue is that LCDs don't exist much above 42 for a reasonable price point. |

dids,
the thing about 37" is we have a fairly small place and both of us think a bigger tv will look weird in the space it's going in. are there cheaper 37" of the same quality? |

does plasma vs lcd really make a diff? [/ QUOTE ] Will you be watching a lot of standard def tv which is a 4:3 aspect ratio? If so, will you keep it 4:3, which will leave black bars on the sides, or will you stretch it to fill the screen? If you want to (properly) leave it in it's normal 4:3 aspect ratio, then you risk burn-in from the black bars on a plasma. No such risk exists with LCD. Plasma is generally a better picture though. |
