24$: QQ on a A-high flop OOP
On the flop I thought there was no point in betting out since only hands that beat me would call. So I checked with the intention of calling bets from villain. Am I missing something? (Villain was at my two tables, and had played tight)

Re: 24$: QQ on a A-high flop OOP
I raise a bit more preflop, 360 or so.
CO cold calling the minraise and then your reraise smells of a moron with Ax or a mid pair thinking he can knock you off the hand because of your check. Thats why being OOP really sucks here. I like the check on the flop because cont. betting here puts you in a really awkward spot if he decides to push over the top or even call. I have to let it go after his donk push but hate it. |

I think you played it well. I would just fold here.

Fold the flop with your read. You said, that Villain was tight. In this case i fold without blinking. He`s actually not overbetting, since he has only 1,5 PSB left...
Fold and wait for your next chance |

I think you played it well until you called the flop push.

Re: 24$: QQ on a A-high flop OOP
i actually think youre close if not ahead of a villains range here, as im only really worried about Ax and i feel that whiffed high cards or more like a pp is well within his range. the factor that may sway it to a call would be the amount of money already in the pot and villains flop line.

Re: 24$: QQ on a A-high flop OOP
So what I think I learned from this thread was that the open check on the flop was OK(?). I also agree I should have reraised more preflop. This makes my plan of calling bets from villain better because of the bigger pot size.
As played I'm still not sure about the call, but I tend to agree with AMT who seems to think I'm ahead often enough and that the size of the pot may sway it to a call. In reality the flop was 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] putting two to a flush on the table, which probably makes the call easier? If I didn't get it please tell me. |
