100NL: folding overpair
Hey guys, I don't post often but was wondering if you could help me out.
I am not sure if I made a correct fold here. I didn't have much of a read on the villain in this hand, i had about 50 hands at the table so far and he was 46/6 with TA of 1.6. So far I had seen him limp calling preflop a few times but generally just folded to a c-bet. I see this line alot by players that hit a big hand. Do you like this fold or no? Any other comments? http://www.pokerhand.org/?730280 Thanks, XraySpeX |

Re: 100NL: folding overpair
i bet slightly more on the turn but thats irrelevant here. your turn fold is perfectly fine. a turn raise is at least a T on that board, if not a flopped set or straight. baluga theorem etc.
basically you only beat a bluff. however im not that disciplined and i never respect minraises, so i usally call the turn and see what he does on the river |

turn is super standard fold. I sometimes even c/f a board like this. It is just ugly.

Re: 100NL: folding overpair
Cool thanks guys... I generally have alot of trouble folding overpairs but I think I am getting a pretty good hang of it.
I find that if a player calls a pot sized bet on the flop (or close to it) and then min raise the turn they normally have a pretty strong hand (two pair or better). It certainly depends on the player but I think that it wouldn't be bad if you assumed a min raise like this on the turn is two pair or better. If the player shows you otherwise then adjust but I think I will be filling a big leak if I just fold to min raises like this unless I myself have two pair or better. XraySpeX |

Re: 100NL: folding overpair
Yeah but it depends too much to put it like that.
Seems to me that you mean while you're playing OOP or not? Not folding overpairs can indeed be a big leak but also try to look at other things you can be doing wrong that gets you into this position. |
