[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I keep my bread in the fridge fwiw, and it stays for a long time. [/ QUOTE ] LOL. As soon as I read that I knew the poster was Italian. Then I saw it was Guids and knew for sure. [/ QUOTE ] I have heard of a lot of italian stereotypes, but never this one? [/ QUOTE ] I first noticed it 15 years ago when I went to a cottage with my anglo friends. I made some toast and put the bread in the fridge, as I always had done. they all looked at me like I was crazy when I told them it was standard for my family. Since then I have asked Italians and non Italians where they keep their bread, and over 90% of Italians keep it in the fridge and about the same percentage of Anglos don't. |

Re: What bread are you eating?
100% Stone Ground Whole Wheat.
The whole wheat deal is a pretty big marketing word now. If the bread doesn't say 100%, there's not much in it. It is difficult to find this bread without HFCS; however, there are a couple I've found that I get. They're more expensive though. I like how they taste, but I think that takes some getting used to. |

I did not know that. Do you use a wash rag? I had no idea that there were people out there that did not use a wash rag in the shower util it was on the chapelle show, it blew my mind.

Re: What bread are you eating?
OP,
Your bread criteria are very similar to mine. I would recommend trying Pepperidge Farm Soft Honey Whole Wheat if you can find it. It does not include enriched flour, it is 100% whole wheat, it tastes very good, and Pepperidge Farm's bread comes sealed in plastic wrapping inside the bag (I think this helps the bread last longer). The bread has always remained surprisingly fresh for much longer than expected. |
