Re: Greatest Sci-Fi Movie of All Times - Sweet Sixteen
How did Alien get seeded higher than Aliens.
And I agree that Matrix > Jedi. |

Clark:
Alien got an average 8.3 rating from IMDB users, while Aliens got an 8.2. Personally I feel the gap should be greater than this, since Alien is a truly great movie, while Aliens is merely a very good movie. Swede |

[ QUOTE ]
Funny, A Clockwork Orange is perhaps my favorite film ever, but I voted for Blade Runner since I consider it much more sci-fi-ish. p.s. as usual, great job Swede. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. I think that Orange is a great movie, but it's kind of an odd addition to a SciFi poll. I couldn't vote for it as the greatest in this genre because it doesn't really fit. 2001 v. T2 is tough, but I went w/ Arnold. 2001 obviously has more artistic merit, but T2 is just fun. I think Matrix vs. Jedi was the toughest call for me. I don't mind the Ewoks as much as most do. However, I think that either Star Wars or Empire should carry the torch for that series, and the Matrix is really worthy of merit. |

Am I the only one that struggled with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back vs. Planet of the Apes (1968)? I love them both, but it seems like OOT is firmly behind Star Wars.

Why can't I vote for Dune?

Re: Greatest Sci-Fi Movie of All Times - Sweet Sixteen
As I said in the earlier post I had a really tough time with the 2001/T2 matchup. How do you pick between the best sci-fi/action movie of all time and the best sci-fi/space opera movie of all time?
Ultimately I ended up picking 2001, simply due to its amazing amount of groundbreaking stuff. There's just something special about a movie that is able to blow you away with its special effects almost forty years after it was made. Swede |

That T2/2001 matchup is quite intriguing....I'm hoping for T2 as that is probably my favorite movie of all time, but I can understand if 2001 wins.

[/ QUOTE ] I had a tough time, cause Empire Strikes Back is my favorite of the trilogy. I had to go with Planet of the Apes though, I loved the concept of the movie, and Charleton Heston is the man. |

BTTF vs Star Wars is like asking me to choose a kid I like more. But, Star Wars is a better movie so I had to pick it.
