What do you check in PT for leaks?
If you had to check one thing in PT to check for a leak what would it be? My new years resolution is try and fully utllise PT(and get better).

Re: What do you check in PT for leaks?
Coldcalled preflop.
Seriously, every piece of information in PT can be used to improve your game. It's just a question of digging through all your stats, comparing them to the better players in your game, and seeing if you can figure out why yours are different (if they are). But if you do see a lot of coldcalling, that's a pretty big leak. |

Re: What do you check in PT for leaks?
The first thing I'd do? Check positional VPIP and PFR. See if they total to something like 17/10 or at least close, and then see if they both gradually increase towards the button.
Then I'd probably check W$SD, see if it's between 50-60%. If it's too low you fold to much, and if it's too high you call too much. Then aggression factors. It's not an exact science, but should be something like 3/3/2, more or less depending on your playing style. Then blinds. Defend about 40% and steal about 35%. If that's all good, you might list profit per hand and pick your badly losing hands and replay those. Anyway it's always just an indication... |

Re: What do you check in PT for leaks?
My games suck. Haven't played a connector or suited ace in a long time. Ok, so 20/12 is fine too. Anyway it depends on the games you play and your style. 17 is actually often pretty loose compared to the rest of the table... most people I play nowadays are 12/8/2.2
(25/5/1 is a big fish and the sharks gather around them quickly. I'm thinking of moving to a different game...) |

Re: What do you check in PT for leaks?
what site do you play? ive tried that many and they are all so tight its crazy.
I am fortunate enough to be european and can play at party which is still full of the worst players ive ever seen. I can only see online limit holdem getting even tougher and there must come a point where something will happen. I played at full tilt for a week and left as it was impossible to find a game consistently with more than 25% players after the flop and the same with stars and most american sites. |

"Tight" does not mean good.
As far as how tight your games are playing, that's even more reason to loosen up. Somewhat. |

Re: What do you check in PT for leaks?
I'm european too, for me it's the times. I usually play between 19:00 and 0:00 GMT. At night it's a bit better. Party always seems empty, very often there is not a single fullring game going there (3/6 or 5/10)
