i didn´t read the whole ¨baseball players are best athletes thread¨ or a lot of the other sports threads so this may have been touched on but I was wondering, if you wanted to find out what sport had the best athletes, wouldn´t the best question be, ¨if all sports stopped paying athletes altogether except for, say, hockey how many current hockey players would be replaced?¨ and then just ask the same for all of the other sports. presumably, the sport with the smallest turn over would contain the best athletes. or maybe not, but i think that would be my first experiment in trying to answer the question, if such an experiment were possible. you can just answer yes or no about the supremacy of that question for determining what sport has the best athletes.

1. player A is a cheater. he´s sitting at your table at some reputable casino and playing in a high stakes game that you somewhat regularly participate in. his cheating will cost you money if it continues. do you take action to stop him?

2. player B is a cheater but he´s bad at it and since you know he´s cheating and how he´s doing it, you stand to profit so you keep playing. player B then accuses player C of cheating. Do you consider player B to be a hypocrite??

3. in light of the fact that you´ve cheated at poker, would you consider yourself a hypocrite if you answered yes to question 1?

Does poker come down to having a positve expectation? And if so is the game any fun?

Say you were forced to live a celibate life with no sex or masturbation, would you trade this situation for a homosexual lifestyle which would only allow sex with men?
(any man on Earth would be available to you at your command)

Please forgive my redundancy.

Have you ever been taken in by a "suckers bet"? By that I mean a bet on something that was statistically stacked heavily against you but was non intuitive as to the actual odds of winning. I'm not talking about something as simple as three card monte or other manipulation ploys.

Do you believe there are advantage plays in blackjack that are currently undiscovered?

I don't understand the question.

Have you ever convinced someone to do something, which was -EV to you, because you felt bad?

For ex: convinced a bad player to stop playing against you in poker

[/ QUOTE ]

yes. If by -EV you mean moneywise.

[/ QUOTE ]

Is this "if" or "if and only if"? If he doesn't just mean moneywise this is a pretty loaded question.

Do you enjoy more giving "No" answers rather than "Yes" answers?

I think that's fairly obviously no, unless you consider chess players to be the best athletes.

Do you have concerns/thoughts about impending 'Peak Oil' production and its effects on society?

[/ QUOTE ]

I would also be interested in any other thoughts you have on this as well, possibly another thread in the future
