Re: hand from stars $55K, just in the money
[ QUOTE ]
"i mean if you know he's not gonna fold semibluff pushing doesn't really have any value." You're 50/50 with any overpair < KK. Calling pf and not getting it all-in with this flop is bad. [/ QUOTE ] players that wont fold any of these boards will pay us off, there are also scare cards, i think we have more equity here than pushing if he's never gonna fold an overpair. |

Re: hand from stars $55K, just in the money
It looks like an ok call because hero flopped a monster draw, but in the grand scheme this is pretty leaky against a station type player who its gonna be tough to bluff/float/take the pot from etc.

Re: hand from stars $55K, just in the money
Hero already said he saw the guy call it off w/ 2nd pair, so I guess thats not my preferred line. Besides, when we whiff on the turn any fold equity we gain from an overcard is waayyy offset by how much equity we loose by only having one card to come.

Re: hand from stars $55K, just in the money
wow, definitely some disagreement over this hand.
i was sure i had no fold equity on the flop. i also thought i had enough chips to "find a better spot" later on. however, there is definitely some advantage to gambling to gain a big stack. i think my mistake was calling 15K on the turn. I called because I was sure he would pay me off if i hit. however, missing the draw essentially me into pushbot mode (the blinds went up a few hands later). |

It doesn't matter "i think my mistake was calling 15K on the turn." Yep "however, missing the draw essentially me into pushbot mode (the blinds went up a few hands later)." Fold pf |
