Soccer In New York City

Random shot in the OOT dark here. I am on a soccer team over at Chelsea Piers...it is a Division 1 team that plays on Tuesday nights. We need 1 or 2 players to round out our squad this session. Last year we made the playoffs, but lost in the first round. Its a competive team with a lot of great guys on it.

As for skill level...here is a decent gauge. I am probably one of the better but not the best players on our team. I was probably the 3rd best player on my high school team that went 16-2 etc and I was recruited by division 3 schools but didnt play. I am not in great shape these days, but certainly not horrible.

THe best players in the league were probably mediocre division 1 college players.

Anyone live in the New York area and fit the description? If so reply in the thread or get a PM over to me

Game tomorrow night is at 7...if u could make it u could come and try it out for a night, rosters are open for the next 2 weeks. Games range between 6-10 on Tuesday

sweet, i will almost definitely be there tomorrow. i would not be able to make games at 6, and 7 is about the cutoff. i sent a pm and will follow-up when i know for sure. thanks.

I can't play now (living in NJ), but let me know if you have a team in the spring (when I'm back in the city).

What's the going rate for a team at Chelsea Piers? I also take it you're playing the competitive, not recreational, league.

NYC, the going rate is about 2K per team...a lot of teams have sponsors though etc. Also I play poker and have little regard for money so if I find I ringer who doesnt have money I will help them out.
