So did anyone ever really find out how third-party registrations are being done? Or have they been shut out completely?

Are you kidding about London?

[/ QUOTE ]

Harrah's announced that when the legislation happened, but since then, they've been bought out.. who knows what it means, though..

AP & UB are still running WSOP satellites but it looks like FT and PS aren't. Do you think AP&UB are just doing it in the event they'll be able to send people?

I'm very confused.

London is the natural choice for the WSOP and it's heartening to see people like Olivert thinking clearly.

The US is unfriendly to online gambling. London is friendly.

In London the huge 18-20 group would be able to play.

If the ME were held in London next year there would be over 10k entrants without a question.

There are obviously going to be americans who hate the idea but that hate is born of personal incovenience. London is the best choice for the financial well-being of the WSOP owners and the best choice for the good of the game.

I think it's obviously not going to happen this year but for 2008 or 2009 maybe.

What's the situation with most Americans and passports.
In Europe, and most of the world, people have passports from an early age and renew them all their lives.
Americans dont leave the USA much, so does the average Joe have a passport?

the u.s. is a very large and beautiful country with many things to see and do. furthermore, americans have been able to travel to mexico, canada, and most if not all of the carribean without passports up until the current changes. i think you can still drive (but not fly) into mexico and canada without a passport. last but not least, i was always under the impression that europeans received more vacation/holiday time than the average american, thus leading many americans to vacation closer to home. btw, many americans leave the country often, just not in as high as a percentage as europeans. jm 2 cents

nope...very few people i know have a passport. Very few have any desire to pay to fly across the pond for a poker tourney, even if it is the main event

Only 20% of Americans own passports, but that makes sense because there is no reason to want to leave.

The WSOP is not a going concern but a revenue generating asset for Harrah's. How does moving this to London help increase TV revenue, fill hotel rooms (gambling revenue) at Harrah's owned casinos?

Moving the WSOP to London will never happen for business reasons.
