OP sounds like a dick, but new mothers are second only to brides-to-be in terms of insufferability.

I don't think the pictures are all that bad, but bringing the baby to the party and expecting people to be quiet is ridiculous. OP is not a deuche.

and THAT is why I don't want to have children for a very long, long time. I am not willing to make anything else (excluding my own happiness) the center of my life.

hopefully I'll mature sometime soon

I fully expect a newborn child to be the center of the parents happiness and life. I somewhat resent it when they expect the baby to the center of everyone elses life as well.

Also, if you compare your newborn to being a job that either means that;

A: You have loved every job in your life like a newborn child,

or B: You consider your newborn child to have the same effect on your life as in going to work at McDonalds.

I find the first disturbing, I find the second sad.

I don't think I could stand her very long, but you're being a nit about the whole "work" comment.

Nothing brings a party down quite like an infant.

When I was around 21 I went to a friends party where the entire theme of the party was focused around all the guests taking a particular drug. Probably 12-15 people, all on said substance. This couple who couldnt find a baby sitter decided to bring that 8 month old, and 2 year old. They kept them locked in a seperate room all night, and periodicaly went in to check on them and play with them while they were [censored] out of their gourds.

I couldn't believe the party thrower let them come in the house. I was never able to show them the least bit of respect after that night. Had I not been trashed, it would have been an issue.

viewing new year's eve as an almost sacred party event is stupid. you can get drunk any old night, why do you give a [censored] if you can't be wild and crazy cuz the kid is asleep? i agree the kid shouldn't be at the party, but people who think it's OK to bring the kid to the party likely are boring as hell anyway, so the party would have sucked regardless.

It is amateur night.

And little miss organizer is a control freak. That poor kid is screwed.

Keep in touch. Wait 14 years. Find out how much she likes it THEN.
