Default 100/200 Semideep

6 handed 100/200

I have been 3 betting pf a bit but not to out of the ordinary. I know villian opens utg with small pairs. I pretty much ruled out kk and possible qq with loose bb's call. Villian had been playing faster than normal but I hadn't seen him overbet push in the limited sessions we have played.

villian (2+2) raises utg to 700 with 33.5k
I cover and reraise to 2500 on the button with two black aces
loose player 22k calls in the bb
villian quickly just calls

flop: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] pot: 7600
checked to me I bet 5000
bb folds villian pushes for 31k total

call/fold? hand ranges for villian?

3 handed, I sometimes check behind. Are you always checking behind?
700 to 2500 raise is pretty standard in this game. Even though bb is loose I was still surprised by his call.

i really respect your posts, la. agree with the point you make about folding here or raising more preflop, but "check the flop?" that isn't really standard.

what's wrong with betting this flop? 3-handed with aces, if you check here most of the time rather than bet, that's a leak.

um not sure if it's a leak, but i didn't really factor the 3 bet pot part - was just thinking it was a raised pot, although they're deep enough that it doesn't completely change things for me.

who was the villain? Against an unkown I call, though from the tone of your post it sounds like you got shown a set of 3's or 4's.

Edit to add: I think QQ is in his range as people often just call queens and these stacks even with the overcaller. Also you have 25% equity against a set which is a ton.
