Default Overvaluing AK?

Villian is 18/10/1.6 over about 500 hands. No real reads at the time. I'm pretty new to limit, playing NL almost exclusively before. How did I play this?

I'd just call down the turn 3bet; you're frequently chopping and it sets you up for a lose2/win 1 type situation (which was what ended up happening)

When he 3-bets the turn, most of the time he has AA,KK, or AK.I don't like your chances.

A player who has an AF of 1.6 over 500 hands is usually not aggressive enough to 3-bet this turn with anything that you are ahead of. As has been said already, you should just call the turn 3-bet and hope for another AK.

I would have bet out on the flop. I think you tried to get too fancy with two pair by waiting for the check raise on the turn. If he raises you call. Then if there's not a scare card on the turn I would bet out again.

Hero is OOP with what is basically a HU pot; capping AKo isn't imperative.

It's not imperative, but with Hero apparently isolating on a short stack from the SB & being 3bet by the BB, I think it's for value very, very often.

I'd also add that if you are going to pass up value, you should have a good reason to.

Reason is, your being OOP blunts your edge somewhat, plus you can make some of that value back by raising villain's expected cbet when you hit the flop.
