Default Who Best At Your Side During Major Heart Attack?

Assuming they all have complete access to all equipment and are equally skilled in their field.

Anesthesiologist

Cardiologist

Emergencey Room Specialist

Internist

Paramedic

Talking about the first thirty minutes only. A few different reputable people have told me somewhat surprising ratings from first to last. What's yours?

Emergencey Room Specialist
Paramedic

These two come in 1-20, the rest come in 21st place and worse.

I think a good taxi driver should be on the list too, he'd probably be 3rd behind the above two.

i agree. paramedic or ers.

The others deal with long term and aren't suited for immediate care.

Do they know we are having a heart attack, or do they need to diagnose us before treatment? I imagine this would factor greatly in the rankings.

I pick this order

1. Emergencey Room Specialist
2. Cardiologist
3. Anesthesiologist
4. Paramedic
5. Internist

I am assuming 1 is a specialist doctor and routinely deals with this type of thing.

Cardiologists, may not so often deal with the emergency aspects but should have a good idea what to do anyway and might save the day if there is something tricky or have a good idea.

Anesthesiologist is a specialist that would be involved in lots of heart surgery etc so should know how to handle the emergency well.

Paramedics routinely deal with this as well, maybe they should be placed higher but I suspect the doctors can do anything they can do and perhaps some other stuff.

Internist, though a doctor, may be a little out of it in terms of some emergency procedures.
