Questions about Niagara Falls
Over the summer, I was in Toronto and ended up making the drive to Niagara Falls to play at Casino Niagara a couple times. I found their $1-2 NL game to be quite soft, and, since i'm only 20 and can't gamble in the US, have planned another trip up there in early March. However, I was wondering if anyone had any information/tips about Niagara they'd be willing to pass along.
For example: how is Fallsview Casino in comparison? I'm comfortable playing the $1-2 NL, so in particular, how do the low-level NL games compare between the two? How about the rake structure? Is Fallsview also a $5 per half-hour session fee? I saw in another thread that there was a third casino in Niagara, but i'm guessing this was a reference to Seneca Niagara on the American side, correct? Either that, or i'm google-illiterate, as i was unable to find a third Canadian casino in Niagara Falls. If there is a third in Canada, how does it compare to the other two? Also, anyone have any recommendations for decent food around Niagara? Anything else of note that i should be aware of? Lastly, how difficult is it to cross back into the US without a Passport? i heard it was becoming increasingly difficult... is this something i should worry about? sorry about all the questions... i tried using the search but couldn't find much in particular on Fallsview or Casino Niagara. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Re: Questions about Niagara Falls
I haven't played Fallsview, but I have been in it and in Casino Niagara. There is no comparison - Fallsview is much nicer.
You need either a passport or a certified birth certificate to cross the border. They don't always ask, but you better have it or you don't get in if they ask. Not a just a photocopy of your bc, but a certified one from the courthouse - should have a certified seal on it. Higher NL games at Fallsview are off the charts from what I hear. Soft. Don't know 'bout lower NL, I'd guess the same. |

Re: Questions about Niagara Falls
Fallsview is the nicer of the two casinos, but their lowest NL game is 5/5 500max, which runs regularly. I'm not exactly sure of the session fee - my best guess is $6 or $7.
Casino Niagara is, as mentioned, the dumpier of the two casinos, and the easier of the two rooms. More casual and more fun. If you're just looking to play a good game and hopefully win a few hundred, go here. As for the border, I'm sure we'll let you in no problem. But going back? I remember your border guards to be nosier than ours. |

Re: Questions about Niagara Falls
thanks.
i guess i'll be sticking with Casino Niagara, since I only feel comfortable making $600 available to myself. I'm a small-stakes player online, and, while I may be able to be a winning player in the $5/5 game, i don't quite feel comfortable with that much money on the table yet. |
