50NL - QQ line vs gay bets
BB is 25/5.8/0.74 over 370 hands.
CO is unknown. I don't like to c-bet this flop. And I don't like my turn and river calls either, but I think I have to call, right? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter UTG ($37.65) MP ($11.30) CO ($28.25) Hero ($49.25) SB ($45.10) BB ($66.40) Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. NO, once CO calls Turn bet, FOLD. Easy lay down.

Re: 50NL - QQ line vs gay bets
Why don't you like continuation betting this flop? In Pokey's latest Hand Reading post, he states that paired boards are good places to continue your pre-flop aggression and I tend to agree. I would put in a bet here.
Since you weren't going to continuation bet, I don't think you can raise the turn when the CO calls, so call is the best there, and same with the river. |

[/ QUOTE ] Once the first guy leads out and is called by CO, what could the CO possibly be holding that isn't beating QQ. IMO, QQ isn't beating much on this board, and if he showed the results, I'm sure it would show such. |

I was hoping to learn how to determine the sexual orientation of bets from this thread. How disappointing.

Re: 50NL - QQ line vs gay bets
By gaybets he means donkbets and these aren't donkbets. In order for this to be a "gay bet" he would have to lead the flop into your raise or check/call a flop CB and lead turn. But you checked the flop which means there was no aggressive action on previous street. Which means his bet on the turn is simply that, a bet.

I don't know, but with the pair of 'queens' the 'gay bets' thing, the avatar with the effeminate man and the pink background....
I think OP may be a closet 'calling station' |

Re: 50NL - QQ line vs gay bets
Well, it's an underbet, which I guess some people associate with a certain sexual orientation or something. Those are the same people who donk off all their chips to show their virility, I guess. 1/4 then 1/6 pot is usually a bad bet regardless (though it has its purposes, as a blocker or simulated blocker; I don't use that trick but maybe I should).
Heads up without reads, I think calling bets of this size is fine because a lot of players play middle pair this way, and others play trips this way (classic WA/WB). With the additional caller in the hand, I agree it's awful. Especially since there are no flush draws past the flop. |

In the hand I posted, if that river bet was a weather man, it would be this: http://www3.youtube.com/watch?v=4HFb...ed&search= |
