NL100 - QQ 3-bet OOP
Let me know what you think of the flop checkraise. Ok or does it suck? I was fairly sure villain would bet the flop if checked to. I was looking to get a bet from him if he had a smaller PP or if he had AK (which I didn't want to give a free card to).
Villain in hand is something like 20/16 after 300 hands or so. His stack is ~$130, Hero covers. Full Tilt 6-max, Blinds $0.5/$1 Hero is in the BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Folded to Villain on the button who raises to $3.50. Very shortstacked SB calls $3.50. Hero raises to $14. Button calls. SB calls all-in. Flop (~$40): T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks. Button bets $25. Hero raises all-in for ~$115. |

Re: NL100 - QQ 3-bet OOP
Not terrible/even if you re raise the flop and he plays back at you/your pot committed. I think you are ahead here unless he spiked a set/he would re raise you preflop with KK or AA

Re: NL100 - QQ 3-bet OOP
I'm not so sure he'd reraise w KK+. He has position and doesn't have to worry about the SB since he'll be all in anyway if he calls.

Re: NL100 - QQ 3-bet OOP
im not a fan. hands that call you beat you and hands that you beat fold. why arent you just leading this flop. i doubt a 20/16 is stacking here with TPTK or JJ. if you flopped a set i wouldnt mind the play but this line looks a little spewy to me

I guess you're hoping he has JJ here? AT?
just bet the flop then slow down |

Re: NL100 - QQ 3-bet OOP
I think you should definitely bet the flop. Also I raise to 18 preflop. I don't like to give smaller pairs correct implied odds to call, and if he's coming along for 14, he'll call 18.

Re: NL100 - QQ 3-bet OOP
You're right, it probably is spewy. I didn't really think he would be stacking off with JJ, and he definitely doesn't have AT. My main thought, as mentioned in OP, was to get a bet from a whiffed AK or PP, i.e hands that he could have called with preflop but would have folded to a flop bet.
What if I had AA? Then I could probably get a call from QQ/KK, two of his very likely holdings. What if I lead the flop and he raises? Easy fold? My action on the turn if I lead the flop and he just calls? |

Re: NL100 - QQ 3-bet OOP
Shortie had ~14 so it's ~40 in the main pot.
