papillon was wicked. it's an escape from jail story, but he was in jail for robbing something iirc

"confessions of a master jewel thief"

i thoroughly enjoyed it. autobiography of a regular joe and how he started out doing small safe cracking job and escalated into breaking into secure apartments and robbing places while people were sleeping in their beds. spans over a 20 (?) year period and talks about how his criminal life affected his personal life.

came out around 2 years ago. book rights have been bought to be made into a movie although i suspect this is often done and then later determined whether a movie is pratical.

If you like true crime, "Catch Me If You Can" was an excellent book, better than the movie.
