Re: Film Review: Batman Begins
I like the idea of Paul Bettany as the joker.

Re: Film Review: Batman Begins
[ QUOTE ]
IMHO Nicholson butchered the joker...the joker was pure evil, one of the scariest villians created. I never got that feeling from Nicholson. It looks like they are being very careful selecting the actor to become the joker, it shouldn't be labeled as "Nicholson as the Joker" but more along the lines of "The Joker". I'm prolly just anal about it, but the last series of movies mutilated the story, I don't want it to happen again and be mentioned with Daredevil or Catwoman. As far as the rumors go I'm favoring Bettany over Depp getting the role [/ QUOTE ] Bettany would be excellent! (see Gangster No.1 for the skinny on his evil bstrd abilities). Or maybe Sam Rockwell in evil psycho mode (like a smoother version of him in Green Mile). |

Rachel Weisz [/ QUOTE ] Nice - good choice. BTW Frills, the more I think about it the more I can't imagine the reason for not bringing back Holmes has anything to do with Cruise stuff. Studios typically budget around 40% of the production cost for marketing - the incremental boost in awareness (hell they might've saved $ from all the attention that got) is well worth the weirdness surrounding Holmes. Dids - do you really think Johansen would be "horrible"? I mean, first of all, she's really hot. I won't post pics of her for the millionth time in OOT, but, I mean, yeah. Also, she can play beyond her years in terms of emotional depth and maturity and also she is hot. -Al |

Re: Film Review: Batman Begins
Depp or Norton, though not Depp if he continues his "quasi-[censored]" thing he's had with his last couple of characters.
I do have one bone to pick though, am I the only one who thinks this film was only just as good as keaton's? I loved Nicholson's joker, and Keaton's Batman. |

Weis would be good.
I love Scarlett, a lot. A whole lot, but she looks too young. |

[/ QUOTE ] I liked Keaton an awful lot as Batman - excellent casting that was not at all obvious. The First Batman is waaay off kilter with the enourmouse Joker character dominating, though. I like the second one a lot too, especially the Pfeiffer(sp?)/Keaton interplay and dialogue - but it seems to be regarded as a stinker in many quarters . There has been scientific evidence to show that those who hate Batman Returns are cissy-Mary's though. Anyone wanna own up? |

Re: Film Review: Batman Begins
The issue was overexposure, a portion of the public got tired of seeing Holmes/Cruise, which impacted their respective movies.
I was initially excited anout War of the Worlds when it was in production, but when it was released I could care less, I was so damn sick of Cruise being everywhere and acting like a jackass. IMHO Dakota saved that movie |
