I got an Amiga 500 in 1986, so I've been playing video games for a while. There's one game that I played way back then that I still play today.
Nethack. Best game of all time. Period. |

4) Fallout 2 [/ QUOTE ] Loved Fallout 1, I thought Fallout 2 was pretty lame. I spent so long looking for ONE gun, and then very shortly after getting it, came across the quest where you find the powered armor and basically every weapon imaginable in the game. The transition from worthless piece of [censored] to overpowered god-thing was far too abrupt for my liking. |

Loved Fallout 1, I thought Fallout 2 was pretty lame. [/ QUOTE ] Ya I played fallout 2 first, so im a bit biased. Went to play fallout 1 and enjoyed it, but not as much as part 2. Probably since they are so similar whichever one you play first is probably going to be better and more fresh. |

5. Leisure Suit Larry 3 - There's a ton of games this spot could belong to, but I'll choose LSL3. The bulk of the game is explorable right from the start, as opposed to the more linear, cutscene-laden adventure games of recent years. You just walk around finding girls and figuring out how to get them in the sack. The puzzles are tough but logical. [/ QUOTE ] To this day I am still angry about this game. If you forget to grab the pantyhose from Pattis dressing room the game is pretty much over becuase by the time you need them you cant go back and get them!! I dont know how I remember that. Top 5 is probably to hard over all platforms as some games are going to be left out 5. Any Sierra or LucasArt adventure game - Larry, Roger Wilco, and Zak McCraken I am looking at you! 4. Baldurs Gate 2 3. Zelda (NES) 2. Killer Instinct (arcade) 1. FF 7 Definitie Honorable mention for me would be the entire set of Intellivsion games. Utopia, AD&D, Astrosmash, Las Vegas. Horse Racing, etc.. |

There were often dead-ends in Sierra games, but it was much worse in text adventures. Lucasarts pioneered the non-punishment of players. |

1) Street Fighter 2 - the game that changed arcades for years (if I had to pick a version I would rate the "best" Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo)
2) Ultima Online - pre trammel and then when factions first came out. 3) Heroes of Might and Magic (I guess I would pick Heroes 3 as the best of the bunch - but I am still buying the new ones when they are released - expansion pack for 5 was the latest) 4) Wasteland - awesome PC game back in the day - played it non-stop. 5) Elite (even the text VAX version gal-trader was fun) Runner ups: Tetris, NHL 94, Command & Conquer, Battlezone |
