Default Flop ass end of str8 in limped pot

I limped this 98o in CO (not sure what my reasoning was at the time). The short stack was bad, the SB was a solid 21/16 type who rarely bet flops or turns according to Pokerace. I can't put anyone on AK here and I have a hard time believing pocket qq-1010 got limped.

Do I raise this flop or wait for some sort of safe turn and evaluate. After my flop play how do you interpret turn action?

Stack sizes:
UTG: $100
UTG+1: $28.10
Hero: $104.60
Button: $103.15
SB: $97.50
BB: $207.65

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with :9h :8d
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB checks.

Flop: :th :jd :qc ($5, 5 players)
SB bets $5, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero???

I just called deciding to see what turn brought and how the solid guy reacts...good/bad?

Turn: :6c ($20, 3 players)
SB bets $15, UTG+1 folds, Hero???

What do you put a tag on here out of the blinds? How to play the turn?

id dump it pf or raise for the button if i played it which i dont normally do w/ 98o. limping just kinda sux here. flop calls ok he's prob got two pair or q9/kq, you could raise cause he acting strong and there's another caller. turn's prob. a good place to raise since he may want to see a river. calling the turn and raising a blank river's kinda dirty and prolly stupid but im a little tempted to do that since he really likes his hand but if thats the case raising the turn could be better.

Raise 50/call push. If he has K9, oh well.

Raise flop. Raise/push turn. Just get it in, you don't really have a choice.

I agree with this. his range can include 2 pairs, combo draws. I think it is a good spot to get your chips in.

I guess he put me on a draw. How do you guys feel about the villians play in this hand? If you were in his shoes how do you play this?

Thank you.

Villians play is terrible, as for you, dont limp with 98 offsuit, as played after the flop i think you played it fine, i doubt SB leads with k9 of that board..

I would lead every time with K9 here. I lead with straights 80%+ of the time. They are the most vulnerable nuts you can flop (sounds bad, I know).

Im not saying no one would, im saying most players (bad) wouldnt,( i would also) also there arent any flush draws so k9 really isnt that vunerable here
