I've been to AC a few times, mainly playing 1-2 NL. Each time I was there was on a weekday. Thinking about going for a weekend in the next few weeks. Are the crowds in the poker room a lot bigger on the weekends? How long can I expect to wait to be seated at a 1-2 NL game on a Saturday afternoon or night? I will probably be at Trop, Ballys, Caesars, or Taj.

i've been playing at the borgata lately. The longest I had to wait was 15 minutes. Although this Friday there was a 70 deep list, but I somehow got lucky to get seated in 5 minutes. I got chips and stood by the guy calling for seats. He just looked at me and said "go with her I think there is another seat."
Can anyone tell me if you can call ahead to be put on the list? I tried this on friday but when I got there I wasn't on the list. The list was 50 deep when I called, got there 40 minutes later and wasn't on the list. I doubt the called 50 people in 40 mintes. |

There's probably no need to call ahead for a seat in the Borgata poker room anymore now that the new room is open. In the old room, the wait on a weekend night could brutal... easily several hours for the more popular games. Now that the Borgata has 85 tables, there is never much of a wait, and so there's really no need to call ahead.
Having said that, if you want to call ahead, the poker room will tell you what the line is like for your favorite game. If you want to be put on the list, it's hit or miss. The policy is not to put names unless the list unless the player is present, but in the old room, I sometimes got my name added when I called in during my drive down from Philly. But, if you're not there when your name gets called, you're taken off the list, rather than moved back to the end of the line. So, once again, it's probably not worth the effort in the new room, since chances are that you will be called for your game before you even get to the casino. |

I think caesars is a pretty good option. I have never had to wait for a table anytime I have been there. They always have a nl game going.

Get a card players card at Trump Plaza which is right next door and you can park there for free. Walk over to Caesars.
