Default Jack Binion WPO question.

I cant seem to find a website that gives you the blind structure for there(Gold Strike) events. The World Series of Poker circut events website gives detailed information on there tournaments. Is there a site that gives information on the Gold Strike tournaments?

Im also leaning towards playing the the tournaments at the Grand rather then the ones at the Gold Strike, simply because Im staying at the Grand. But if the five hundred dollar events at the Gold Strike are run better Id like to know.

Thanks

I'm sure if you contacted them they'd help you out.

To my knowledge, the structures at the Goldstrike are not published on the web anywhere. You'd most likely have to call the poker room for that info.

FWIW, Johnny Grooms (TD @ 2005 WSOP) is the TD at the Goldstrike & seems to be very good at his job. So, the Goldstrike's events maybe better than the Grand. Just a thought...

Johnny Groom frequently lurks around here I'm sure he'll reply eventually. Course sheets will be available when you get there.

Just give them a call. They will fax you a blinds/antes structure sheet.

I played in the WPO two years ago. Registration was a nightmare! I waited in line for over two hours to register. Have they made this process any better? Will they sell out for this Saturdays $500 no limit tourney? Are there still rooms available in Tunica for this Saturday night? I know I could look in the yellow pages and find the numbers for casinos and motels and call around but probably some 2+2'ers have already went through this process.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

There's another thread on the 2 tournaments in Tunica, probably a couple of weeks old by now. Has a few pointers in it.

Registration is still probably a nightmare...thats the way it is.

Two years ago was the worst. Much better last year, and I expect even better this weekend.

One story from the big lines and waits in Jan 05: A young guy was just freaked out by the big line - so he had his girlfriend stand in line for 4 hours so he could get the entry. He busted out of the NL tourney in half that time.

Probably all the rooms have been booked for a month, but call Sonya at the Gold Strike. 888-245-7529 gl

I don't know if this is to the same people at the Gold Strike but the # I call 662-357-1111.

The Grand is 800-946-4946.

The WPO event I played in was the $500 NLHE rebuy and it started at 25-50 and they were 1hr blinds.

GOLD STRIKE 550 NL.

2000 chips
blinds start at 25-25
blinds increase every 40 mins.

Thats what they told me, I asked if they could fax or email me the sheet and was told he didnt have a way to print it off. Im sure if they really wanted ot they could but Im also sure they are swampped. The person I talked to wasnt the Tournament director, just a floor or brush maybe even dealer loafing around the room. Ive been to serval WPO, although its been awhile(last time was the frist WPT season) so I could understand the guy not willing to take time out to for me. He was probably trying to sit three players, start a limit game, and argue with a kncukle head about why he must leave the must move table.

Also I have a couple of friends that have already arrived and said that the lines where long for event one at Gold Strike. This was expected, I still hate it though. As for rooms, the Gold Strike is booked, unless you gamble alot in the casino then there is always a room. Your best bet is the Grand. They will probably tell you they are booked if you
call (dont they have 3 hotels there) but once you get there things change. A friend arrived yesterday with no reservations and started playing poker at the grand. Today he has a room a discounted price.
