On a credit application what do you guys put as your current job? Anything inventive like "freelance investing"?
I never understood that part of the credit application, they don't even seem to check it. I'd imagine lying on it would open you up to legal penalties if you got audited and got caught or something though. If you have very good credit (700+) is anyone going to turn you down because you list your job as "proffessional poker player" or "professional gambler"? I know being a poker player has a stigma with it in the US but I don't know whether credit companies care. I ask because I said I was a web programmer recently even though I make all of my money from poker. Wondered if anyone else had done similar. |

It's simply a question that gives them a hook in a lawsuit (for some other reason). It doesn't matter one bit in terms of qualifications. (for the companies I know of...there may be smaller banks who issue credit cards that care about employment)

Ahh I see, so if I'm making my payments on time they have no reason to care.

Lying to companies that control your money is not a good idea.

[ QUOTE ]
Lying to companies that control your money is not a good idea. [/ QUOTE ] Just put something vague enough to stand a mediocre amount of pressure if something happens. Since they don't verify it, they would have to concretely prove you were lying. |
