Default WU Wire Transfer

I have been playing online for fun for a while now and I want to start playing for money (another fish in the pond) . Unfortunately, the UIGEA came along about the same time. I'm not comfortable giving out banking information online so I was wondering if a Western Union wire transfer would be illegal under the terms of the UIGEA?

Thanks for any advice and I must say this site is full of advice.

You can still perform a wire money transfer but they are expensive. It is actually cheaper to purchase a visa gift card, if you can. You can type in your zip code into www.allaccessgift.com and find a place that sells them. You will end up spending $5 to get one versus $14 for WU.

You can start a Neteller or epassporte account and fund much more easily and quickly than anyt other method.

so the visa gift cards will work for pokerstars from the us?

I've tried a debit visa card I have but was denied from pokerstars - or this denying was because of the bank I got the visa card through?

Hey Josh I asked Stars if they accpeted Visa gift cards here is their reply:

Hello Marlyn,

Thank you for your email.

If the gift card has the Visa logo on it, you can use it to make ourchases
at PokerStars. To do so, please go to Cashier > Buy Chips > Visa > Deposit
and follow the instructions.

If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,

Stephanny

So it looks like a gift card will work.
