Good reading material for SNGs
Some recommendations please. Obviously this forum is a great source. The info you guys give is invaluable. I have Lee Jone's book Winning Low Limit Hold'em which has a good section on SNG's and both volumes of Harrington's book (quite excellent by the way). Any other material out there I should obtain specifically for SNG's?

Re: Good reading material for SNGs
all 2+2 books
Getting started in Holdem by Ed Miller (has a few relevant sections) Poker Tournament Strategies by Sylvester Suzuki (has a few relevant sections) Tournament Poker for Advances Players by David Sklansky (is IMO the best book to teach a person how to view the differences between ring game play and tournament play) oh yeah and this forum is like a book |

Re: Good reading material for SNGs
Gordon's book is mostly about the logic and thinking that goes into playing situations in tournaments. That applies to sng's just as well. It is also imo, well written and easy to read and understand the thinking behind why he makes the plays he does.
He also makes a disclaimer that his is not the only way to do this right. There is nothing wrong with the G.Hansen, P.Ivey, etc approach if you know how to do it. I thought it was a well written book. It got on my list of books that required re-reading along with several books from this site as soon as I had finished it. Doc |
