Re: 98s in reraised pot, Prima 2/4
[ QUOTE ]
i would call the first raise, but probably dump to the second one. as played, push it in...hopefully your flush outs are good and one of them doesn't have JJ. [/ QUOTE ] I thought the first raise is pretty standard as well, because I only have to put in 3.4% of effective stack. But because I have problems with these situations I guess I should just muck them unless the call is very clear under the circumstances. |

Re: 98s in reraised pot, Prima 2/4
apart from all the other reasons people have given about not calling raises with drawing hands out of position etc.
whats one flop you really like to see with 89 ? TJQ what's the most common raising hand ? AK, this is mentioned in SS |

There are plenty of very good boards for a suited connector like 98s besides flopped straights, btw. |

Result
I did what most of you suggested, Pushed, BB called after a few seconds and CO folded.
CO showed A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], which wasnt very surpricing. Turn and river came K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and MHING. http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1517740 pokenum -h 8h 9h - ac ad -- 5h jd 6h Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing Jd 6h 5h cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV 9h 8h 473 47.78 517 52.22 0 0.00 0.478 Ac Ad 517 52.22 473 47.78 0 0.00 0.522 Close to a coinflip... If you want to continue to comment the hand, its very welcome. The lesson ive learned this far is to be cautious with SC OOP preflop and I should really try to get away from them more often in situation like these in the future. |

fold preflop, push flop. [/ QUOTE ] Fold to the first raise, or 2nd raise? Open Push or C/R Push (ie as played)? |

first raise. i'm definitely calling the second. [/ QUOTE ] Why muck to the first one, and why is a call on the 2nd raise so clear, is it because of a more well defined hand of BB than of CO in the first place? |

Re: 98s in reraised pot, Prima 2/4
Call after the first raise and fold after the BB reraises.
Push it in after the flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] The first raise looks like it will be a medium sized pot HU, out of position. That's a muck. The second raise looks like it will be a huge pot, multi-way, out of position but with only one street to play. that's a call. |
