Default Beat: Mass Scratch Tickets

I'm usually not into these but since I've been home, I've developed a lead for the Bingo scratch ticket that takes 20 minutes to finish and is usually a huge disappointment.

So far, -EV. Though I am getting a couple for the plane ride home. Soooo addictive.

Same idea but different state for those of you who haven't yet developed a problem:

These scratch tickets are so annoying. Theres one in RI that is like a crossword puzzle.

Then add in all the ones where you look for pots of gold, rocket ships, etc. UGH. I'm fine with having some random symbol that wins all prizes, but for god's sake dont have me looking for random stuff.

Give me matching my numbers to winning numbers or the easier ones likes 7s where if you get a black 7 you win X and red 7 you win Y.

The best was when our then acting governor Jane Swift announced "an increase in lottery revenue for schools!!!"

What morons didn't realize was that this translated to "less winning scratch tickets"

My guess is the same morons who were buying the tickets when she announced it.

I'm all for legalized gambling, but I live near a few little marts that sell those things, and it always saddens me to see broke-ass people dump out $20 or $40 for some tickets. It's gambling with basically no perks. No free drinks. No hot waitresses. No rewards points. Just an immediate 50% rake or whatever. Ugh.
