Default Weakly played overpair

Live 50$ NLHE FO in an Oslo poker club.

This is the first hand of the second orbit at my table. Play has been going on for 15 minutes. The table has been unusually tight for this tournament.

MP2 hasn't really been involved much yet. He limped UTG once, and then folded to a standard raise (which several people called) when he was getting better odds than he had on his origninal limp. I have played one pot when I called a button minraise from SB, checked in the dark, called a 1/2 pot bet on a TJ5 flop, and took it down when I lead the turn.

We all started with t10000.

Big blind is t100, 9 handed

MP2 has t10 000ish
I have t11 800

Preflop: I'm on the button with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
3 folds, MP2 calls t100, 2 folds, I call t100, SB calls t50, BB checks.

Flop: (the pot is t400] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, BB checks, MP2 checks, I bet t400, 2 folds, MP2 raises to t1200, I think for like 1 minute, and call t800.

Turn: (the pot is t2800) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
MP2 leads for t2000, I think for about 2 minutes and fold.

I'm interested in discussion on all 3 streets here. I'll post some of my thought process eventually.

Edited to add turn card.

i would have raised preflop to isolate or take it down and that flop is good for you. i would have moved all in on him on the flop why would he raise on flop w a set? wouldnt he be more likely to flat call? you played it weak tight but sometimes you get a bad feeling and go with it and then you start to wonder if u blew it

Been, let's discuss this hand instead.

Well, I definitely raise preflop. We've got position and the only other player in the pot so far we've already seen limp/fold to a standard raise. You're also both very deep, and you won't have too much trouble getting away on an unfavorable flop with stacks this deep. Seriously, I think I raise this preflop roughly always.

Postflop, I think your line is fine. His check/raise doesn't have to be a better hand than yours. It might be, but I think you can at least call the raise to see what he does on the turn. You still want to try and get to showdown here. So I play the flop pretty much the same (I might bet a little less, like t300, since it's a pretty dry board and I'm not too worried about being called by a drawing hand). And I fold to the turn also, though we could definitely be folding to A8 or something...but I just don't think it's worth finding out if he's just made a boat or trips or something this early, we'll find better ways to use our chips than this thin margin.

This line by Villain looks alot like A8 or 99 to me.
JJ+ and you think he would have raised pre flop.
He might have you on the A8 and think his 99 is good but he doesn't want to see a turn card over a 9 so he raises the flop.
I can't see Villain rasing the flop with a set on a board that safe.
When another under to his 99 hits the turn he makes a bet to push you out of the hand.
If he had a set on the flop then he just made quads or a boat. So why bet out that strong on a board that safe ?
I think you have him beat here.
