Default Things OOT has taught me/DC area info/good info to know.

OOT, (pronounced shoot, you ingrates)

I am accepting a new job in the DC area, Vienna to be exact. I'll more than likely live in Alexandria.

Any info you good folks of the NoVa/DC area can impart to me would be awesome.

However, in taking this job, I'll pretty much be forced to actually work for a living. While this will definitely be cutting into my "OOT time", it's a good thing for my family, and a good career move. Basically, you probably won't see much of me at all anymore. Anyway, in my time here, these are the things I've learned:

1) everyone on the internet is smart. Ridiculously so.

2) men and women in their teens and early 20s love internet drama.

3) the hippo is pretty much the baddest overall animal on the planet, taking into account it's ability to fight in water and on land.

4) the fact that I could handle about 30-40 5 yr olds makes me the minority

5) we have a lot of fat people on this board, myself included. But we're all dieting, and we all work out, and we are all ridiculously strong.

6) kids these days know just about as much as I did when I was a teenager about sex.

7) OOT has cycled in and out of "the suck". NT, daryn, The_Dude, et al, have done a good job lately.

8) [censored] did a great job. At first I thought he was ridiculous in the way he wielded his power, but I've come to appreciate the job he did.

9) speaking of non-comformist, the Miss OOT threads were fantastic.

10) OOT Grandes for Life, yo.

11) My love of bad mexican food is shared by literally thousands of folks here. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] taco bell, [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] fire sauce.

12) El Diablo is more man than myth. His advice is usually spot on, but it's the way he presents it that makes it awesome.

13) stuey rocks.

14) #sstakes is the [censored]

15) you can drink a gallon of milk in an hour and not puke, but it isn't worth it.

16) people will do ridiculous things to themselves for money. (Here's looking at you, Crimson, Tony P, etc.)

17) knuckleheads will argue about music til time stops, never realizing that just because you like something doesn't make it awesome for everyone.

18) sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.

19) for the most part, we've got an awesome group of people here in OOT, and I'm glad I got to hang with you kids.

20) people who look at a post of this size and say tl;dr suck.

21) airplanes can take off on a treadmill.

22) Jason_t is a nit, but he'd get the max amount of money for his stupid vase.

23) if I spent as much time in the poker forums as I did here I'd probably be a damned good poker player.

24) we love our tv, and we love our tivo. Lost, Heroes, 24, etc.

25) meeting people from the internet in real life is not weird or strange or anything else. However, sometimes people are different on the internet than they are in real life.

26) never start a thread in OOT about NYC. Please, just don't.

ok then, that's enough for now. Too early to put together a list like this, I guess.

Anyway,

[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] OOT.

Some special shout outs:

Indy Matty
Patrick of the Big Poker
Jakethebake
El Diablo
Dids
Mr Killa
Sam J Jones
Bison Bison
Spicy F
daryn
The Dude
ThaSaltCracka
Gonores
Clarkmeister (even though I'm on your ignore list)
evan
Doc Savage
the entire NYC crew
my nga stabn

If I left you out and you feel you should be on this list, sorry. It's early yet.
