So what? So go in and school em.

Also, CMIs taste is very middle of the road, not obscure or hipster at all. Wait till you see my list.

I can't stand any of the stuff he listed, I don't see how your list could be any worse.

[/ QUOTE ]

Uhh, have you listened to all of the bands on his list? Phoenix, for one, has a very basic sound... I can't imagine someone who likes rock/pop not being able to stand them. Same thing kind of goes for Belle and Sebastian... Everything he posted is definitely good though.

Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones
Serena Maneesh - Serena Maneesh
Built For Spill - You in Reverse
The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America

These are the five I'm actually listening to again and again.

edited to add Tool - 10,000 Days

Bob Dylan - Modern Times
Tom Waits - Orphans
RHCP - Stadium Arcadium
Decemberists - Crane Wife
Sting - Songs from the Labyrinth

The Sting album is entirely Elizabethan lute music, it's fantastic.

That's actually the first tolerable list I've seen in a thread of this type. Thank you for rekindling my faith in OOT's partial lack of musical retardation.

I listened to 10,000 Days in the car again today. I still don't like most of it.

It's a good album, but like all Tool-albums it takes a little time to sink in. Lateralus and Ænima are much better albums though.

I think Lateralus may be the finest piece of art ever created by human beings.

I haven't listened to that many this year, but of what I've heard I love...

Flaming Lips "At War with the Mystics"
Zero 7 "The Garden"
Cut Chemist "Audience is Listening"
