Yeah, but KSt reverted to atrocious form the following week, their QB had 6 turnovers v Kansas in a 19-pt loss. Ugly.

kansas state has horrible rush defense. here's the rushing yards against them excluding the first three games

228*, 180, 18 (baylor), 190*, 262*, 104, 225, 143, 247

* = ranked team

rutgers has the best running game in the league IMO. ray rice + leonard all day. it's the highlight of their offense since teel is a lil shaky and his receivers aren't that good.

so i think rutgers will run all over kansas st and dominate prolly 250+ yards on the ground

i also might be a lil biased since i did my ugrad and grad studies at RU, but from just looking at the numbers i still think RU covers more often than not

Rutgers gets big emotional boost the Sciano is staying.
I think this is pretty significant.

I think Alabama's situation is a big distraction.
I just drove through Alabama on my way down to visit my parents in Florida.
All they were talking about on the radio the whole way down and the whole way back was the coaching situation. Rodriguez dissing them. Will they get Saban? etc etc.
Not just sports people. Everybody.
I have to think the players are getting asked this stuff over and over again too.

What a huge distraction. So I'm really reluctant to pick them.

5-4 so far in bowl games.

Taking rutgers and A&M.

Leaning towards OK St.

Its hard enough to focus on a bowl game after taking a month off then going to some fun city with a party atmosphere, add the coaching situation on top of it and I really don't see a lackluster Alabama team pulling this one out.

Word on the street here in Bama is that Okla. State's team has been on lockdown this week, while Alabama's interim coach has allowed his players to enjoy the casinos and "sights" of lovely Shreveport.

That happened in SB15. Eagles were on lockdown under Vermeil, half of Oak's team got arrested on Bourbon St.
27-10 Raiders.

I'm on Cal tonight

Longshore looks good when he has time in the pocket.
A&M doesn't get to the qb that much.

Of course, the Pac10 has looked miserable, so I feel less good about this now.

Are we really arguing for a pick under the premise that 21-year olds are as good at handling Bourbon St. as 35-year-olds?

...OK State, by 10

I really like OSU and Cal tonight. I think you get a lot of value with Cal since the Pac 10 has had such a poor showing. I also have a small play on KSU and the Cal over.

That's very similar to what I was thinking. That the pro situation is WAY different than the college kids.

I'm okay with a philosophy of letting the kids 'loosen-up' to get them into a more relaxed mindset for playing where they won't be as tight.

but that seems different to me than practically 'giving up, go do what you want' which is what might be happening with this Ala team.

I'm sure they have a curfew and all that but I like what I hear about Ok St being more disciplined about their trip.

However, it should also be noted that Shreveport is NOT New Orleans. They are about 5-6 hours apart.

There are some riverboat casinos there and obviously some downtown bars.
I don't know how party-like it is in Shreveport during Indy-Bowl time. When I was there I found the city to be quite boring, the casinos especially.

So don't assume they went partying on Bourbon Street in New Orleans unless they took some MONSTER cab-ride.
