Re: Stars 1/2 river
You can pretty much answer your own question if you ask yourself why you are raising this flop and what he is calling your raise with.

Re: Stars 1/2 river
I hate the flop raise. I hate the turn check. You only have yourself to blame for this one.
It's important for you to realise that the issue with this hand is the flop, not the river. |

Re: Stars 1/2 river
shrug, I've heard that villians at our stakes rarely bluff rivers, so ppl would prob. recommend folding.
I want to call though, but shrug... it feels like a fold. |

Re: Stars 1/2 river
Looking back, I probably overthought this one. I was confused by the lack of a flop push personally, it didn't seem consistent with a set... even though the board was dry, i have encountered very few at 200 who will raise flop/fold to a push, so i figured he would push assuming i call. so from there i figured a draw or weak mid pair hand was likely (along with ak/aq). The turn presented a problem once I hit a hand that I felt beat a large % of his range. The board was fairly dry, and there was realistically no 2 pair hand he could put me on, so I decided to check to let him potentially take a stab on the river. The overbet push narrowed his range imo to sets, 68, and maybe any 2 pair hands. I think the call is ok if i include 2 pair hands - I guess the main reason for posting this hand was to get people's opinions on whether or not anyone value pushes 2 pair hands there. people can flame the flop raise, but i dont really see it as a problem.

Re: Stars 1/2 river
Any reads on how he plays a set?
Hate flop raise what hands does he call with that your ahead of? Turn puts you ahead of his range IMO you sould bet then and fold to RR. |

Re: Stars 1/2 river
if you raise the flop you have to bet this turn. it just put more draws out there. as played this is an easy call. your ahead of any other ace out there.
