i'd say having "an approach" or goals like having xxx chips by point xxxx is incorrect

Inasmuch as the approach has an effect on the play of individual hands, I agree. As an early level strategic concept that influences starting hand selection and aggression/post flop play, I differ. I'm pretty sure Brunson covers the same concept in SS. Of course, he says it much better and in greater detail. As a side note, I've found TJ's "solid poker throughout" approach to be ineffective as applied to these structures.
