Default Hand at Final Table - No Brainer?

FTP $150 Final Table - 7 players remaining
Blinds at 4k/8k - soon to be 5k/10k +antes

I had been raising quite a bit from the button and cutoff. I was having to fold a lot of hands out of the blinds because the big stacks to my right were forcing me to commit a large majority of my chips on most hands.

I had seen the SB put all his chips in with big aces a few times at the final table. He had recently made a comment to one guy about how he wasn't going to put up with his continuous blind steals. He seemed to be getting a little frustrated to me.

Full Tilt Poker Game #1481126721: $35,000 Guarantee (10302302), Table 35 - 4000/8000 Ante 1000 - No Limit Hold'em - 1:15:21 ET - 2006/12/27

Seat 2: Seat 2(304,512)
Seat 3: Seat 3 (384,361)
Seat 4: Seat 4 (112,714)
Seat 6: Hero (105,572)
Seat 7: Button (188,732)
Seat 9: SB (159,434)
Everyone antes 1,000
SB posts the small blind of 4,000
BB posts the big blind of 8,000
The button is in seat #7
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [8c 8h]
All folds
Hero raises to 24,000
Button folds
SB raises to 158,434, and is all in
BB folds
HERO ???

I put his hand range on 22-AA, AJ-AK. I am not sure about AA or KK, but he may have pushed all his chips with those hands. I thought his most likely holding was AJ-AK.

I have 80k left and the blinds are increasing soon. If I fold it basically leaves me with a M between 3 and 4.

What is your move? Is it a no-brainer?

yea - think this is a no brainer

88 vs the top 11% is a 47% dog but with the dead money and your chip position if you fold i'd have to call this both for the pot odds and the metagame. you fold your in last and need a hand quick with an m of about 5, you call and win your third in chips.

yea - to be a no brainer and hope to see and win the heavy end of a flip

I insta push this pre flop.
Your effective M since it is 7 handed is a little under 4.
You can pick up almost 20% of your stack if it's folded to your push.

I think you have more FE just sticking it all in instead of raising to 24K.

Yeah... if you have a semi vulnerable hand that you arent really begging for action with, but have decided to raise with (and intend to call a push), you should generally just shove in the first place.

Push preflop, since you didn't, call the push.

I decided before I made the raise that I was going to get all my chips in on any re-raise. Since, I had been pushing all in with quite few hands I thought the 3xBB raise would look like I had a bigger hand that wanted a call.

Fair enough, at least you had a plan. If you've been playing aggressively recently, that's even more reason to call quickly now.

You have it backward. You're screwed if someone has 99+ no matter how you play it. If people are more likely to call you light if you push, then push. You want lower pocket pairs to get into that calling range and you certainly don't mind taking a flip against overs at this point.
