Re: Blackmail. School Me.
[ QUOTE ]
Hmm... Perhaps there was a reality tv show where average joe's were interviewed, and if they met certain criteria via survey (white, over 30, married 5+ years, at least one kid) they would be "interviewed" for a reality TV show. They sign a waiver that everything they do can be taped and put on air, the same way Sacha Baron Cohen obtains the release forms. Besides the initial interview, everything else is recorded by hidden camera. The mark assumes he's no longer on tape, at which point a woman who is part of the camera crew who is RIDICULOUSLY HOT (MUST BE A 10) shows interest in the man and asks him to dinner or some other event. This woman then proceeds to hit on him and lets him know that she'd like to screw him. They hit a hotel and proceed to have sex. If he bangs her... a few weeks later him and his family are invited to a "special screening" of the "reality TV show" where the truth is revealed. If he chooses not to bang her... Same ending, but instead of public humiliation the contestant gets prize money. Me and a few friends were talking about this earlier today. It's like Cheaters, Borat, and Jerry Springer all in one. Would it work from a legal standpoint? [/ QUOTE ] You are going to hell and you deserve it. |

Re: Blackmail. School Me.
Different angle to question. We were talking to a co-worker about something similar. His wife left him for some guy and he wanted revenge. Someone suggested that he pay a really hot escort to come on to new husband and bring him back to hotel where hidden camera taped it. My coworker was then going to email movie to everyone at her job to further embarass his ex. Unfortunately she got pregnant before plan was enacted and an innocent child won out over my friends need for revenge. Obviously she would have known he was behind plan. We were not sure if that would be breaking any laws other than promoting prostitution or something like that. They would need the hooker to press charges so we suggested an out of towner. Damn baby ruined a beautiful trainwreck. To the legal minds. Would that have been illegal with no demands like blackmail ? Harassment ? How do they prove ?

[/ QUOTE ] Other than the prostitution angle I don't see anything that the state would bother to pursue. That brings us to the tort/civil side where I think you would be in trouble (think OJ; not guilty in criminal case but liable in civil case). The threshold of proof in a civil case is much lower than in criminal. |

Re: Blackmail. School Me.
Looks like you already know what blackmail is.
But it would be better to get him drunk and have sex with a black male, so he's not confused about the bill you send either. |

[ QUOTE ]
I checked the wikipedia definition of blackmail, but I'm confused a bit. Situation - I hire a call girl to bang a guy I know who is drunk and wanting to get laid. When he comes to I show him the video of him banging the hooker and tell him to pay me a reasonable fee or risk me showing the video to his wife. 1. Is this blackmail? 2. What if the guy isn't drunk? 3. What if instead of hiring a call girl, it's a girl who will bang him free of charge? 4. Can you really go to jail for stuff like this? [/ QUOTE ] die |
