Guns n\' Roses Final Four poll
Okay, since these entrants are all ahead by a 2 to 1 margin, I feel confident that these are the final four (sorry to those Estranged fans, esp. Vibesman.) It’s the heavyweight from the 7x Platinum Use Your Illusion I, November Rain, and the trio from the 15x Platinum Appetite for Destruction. “As of 2005, Appetite For Destruction remains the best-selling debut album of all time.” – Wikipedia.
Some quick facts about the Final Four: November Rain topped the Billboard charts at #3 in 1992, and won the “Best Cinematography” award from MTV. It holds the record for longest guitar solo (counting two of Slash’s) in a top ten hit. Plus, Stephanie Seymour is hot. Paradise City topped out at #5 in 1989. This song, like Mr. Brownstone, is believed to be about heroin. Coincidentally, “Paradise City” is an anagram for “easy acid trip.” Welcome to the Jungle hit #7 in 1988, and helped GnR win “Best New Artist” at the MTV awards. It has become a sporting event staple. Sweet Child O’ Mine is GnR’s first and only #1 single, hitting that slot in 1988. It won “Best Video” at the MTV awards, and Slash’s guitar riff was voted #1 of all time by readers of Total Guitar magazine. I hate to do this because I like all these songs, but here we go. I tend to agree. It's definitely my least favorite track from Appetite, although some of that is from overexposure on the radio. But November Rain is overrated too, and last round it was up against Patience.
