Default I love midpairs (extracting value)

I really need to work on extracting value from monsters. Is there any reason why I didn't get one or both of the villains to bust on this hand or did I finally play a hand of poker correctly?

not betting this ace-high flop with a set is a crime

lead this flop. That A will get you raised plenty of the time and then you can get him to create a big pot fast. Also, just becuase you got a set doesn't mean people are always going to stack off, getting two people AI on a hand is never easy, they really need to have something. But lead your sets more often on boards they have likely hit.

Does it matter that the converter messed up and I am the Big Blind? Usually when I hit a monster like this from the unraised BB i check it as any player should really think I have nothing here. I hate leading monsters from the BB as a lot of good players see that as HUGE strength. Is this flawed thinking?

yeah i saw you were BB -- in 3way pots you just HAVE to start building the pot right away, and no one is folding an ace that they limped regardless, because they'll put you on some draw/hand they beat. and if they don't have an ace the only way you're getting "paid off" is if you luck into a villian with a 7 "hitting a 5 outer" or something. you just can't expect the pot to build itself in a 3way pot, and the fact that its ace-high increases your chances of actually succeeding in winning a big pot here.

I think not leading and check raising would scare an ace even more. Just lead, an ace will call and then value bet every street. The check raise on that board is more a sign of strength than the lead IMO.

it's not *horrible* not to lead, but once it turns out to be 3 way, bet the turn.

yeah, the lead is especially good when someone limped in with AT... "durrr, I flopped top pair, I should protect my hand!" and then pots it...

I lead this flop seriously like 95% of the time. if im raised I have options, check raising turn is good, check calling and shoving river is good, if im just called I continue betting and proceed to stack AJo
