Default NL50 6m 99 overpair hand

I had been playing about 27/21/14 (no joke on the AF) for ~100 hands. Villain was 25/16/5 and had played back at me more than once. Usually, I folded to major resistance.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($141.70)
UTG ($49.75)
MP ($32.80)
Hero ($51.45)
Button ($24.40)
SB ($74)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $2</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $6</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls $4.

Flop: ($12.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets $8</font>, Hero ???

Hero folds, because raising here would commit him to the pot. On the other hand, if hero made it a habit to rebuy to full buyin whenever his stack dropped below it, he would have enough chips to raise to about $32, thereby convincing SB, who is most likely c-betting with whiffed overs, to shove his overcards somewhere unsanitary.

Sorry, I misread the preflop section, and thought villain was making the first raise, not reraising. In this case, he might have a higher pair, which is a good reason to raise here and tell AK or anyone 3-betting light to shove off. If you encounter resistance, shut down. As mentioned before, to do this you need chips.

FWIW, Hero has 51.45 which is greater than max buyin.

Sorry, you have my full permission to shave my housepets, along with a sincere apology. It's been a problematic christmas. What is full buy-in for that blind level?

Raising to $32 leaves us $13 behind, so a raise here is a shove, which is bad.

How about this? Call flop, fold to a real turn bet, or check behind and call the river if no A or K flops. What do others think of that line?

How had you reacted when villain played back at you? Had you been stealing a lot of blinds, and folding when re-raised pre? If you have some gamble in you, I like a shove. Put yourself in their shoes, and think about how you would play 77, 88, AKs, etc. in their situation. This seems like a continuation bet more than anything, I think high pairs, trips, or a boat will all check to you here. A hand that is of marginal strength there will put out a 2/3 pot continuation bet to take it down there, and fold to a reraise?

You can call here, but this villan is probably not re raising oop pre flop with too many hands besides AK that you currently beat. I might be giving villan too much credit, but it looks like he is trying to get some value from a better overpair, either that or trying to make that sissy continuation bet with AK or mayyyyyyyybe AQ. So i guess I like call, fold turn unimproved. Villans being oop will reveal a lot about his holding on the turn.
