Top 5 all-time favorite poker episodes?
It's hard to remember everything I've seen but here is what I come up with off the top of my head. Mine are more geared towards entertainment value than good poker because that's what I look for first and foremost. I'm sure your favorites will vary from mine.
1 - WPT Paris where Tony G goes to war with Surrinder Sunar and trash talks the rest of the table mercilessly. 2 - The first WSOP TOC where Hellmuth threw the ultimate fit after losing in hilarious fashion to Annie Duke. 3 - WPT Bay 101 (I think) where Danny Nguyen plays horribly and destroys everyone including Gus Hansen. 4 - The episode of HSP season 1 where Hellmuth gets stacked like 3 times in a row and loses his cool bigtime (actually there might have been a few eps like that). 5 - The 2004 USPC episode where Hoyt Corkins tried to steal Jdag's blind with 87o, got called by 10s, flopped trips and turned quads. Dags knocking his pile of chips over towards Hoyt in a fit of rage was priceless. Then the next hand he went all-in for his last chip with KK, got called by QQ and JJ and they both flopped sets against him. |

Re: Top 5 all-time favorite poker episodes?
1. Hellmuth's post-TOC rant against Annie.
2. Chau Giang in the '04 Omaha WSOP (Pokah's nice... I love play poker) 3. Matusow v. Raymer (two combined episodes, really). 4. 7-stud WSOP final table ('04?) featuring Chad Brown, Ted Forrest, and Men the Master, where he spits out his beer, and also gets a phone call. 5. '06 WSOP. Watching Molina act like an ass. Edit: Most of Hellmuth's tirades trump these others, but I prefer to spread it around a bit. |

3 - WPT Bay 101 (I think) where Danny Nguyen plays horribly and destroys everyone including Gus Hansen. [/ QUOTE ] This episode made me sick to my stomach. I wanted to throw my TV out the window when he waved to the crowd like a celebrity after he hit perfect perfect with A7 vs AK on a Kxx flop. |

A more-recent episode with comedy value: WPT Ladies Night IV, starring Kelli "do you believe in a queen" Griggs.
Even VVP had trouble containing himself as he watch the final hand unfold. |

Re: Top 5 all-time favorite poker episodes?
Danny Nguyen has to be the biggest donkey to ever win a 1+ million tourney. Even Jamie Gold thinks the deck hit this guy over the head.
Some of my favs in no particular orde. 2003 WSOP Sam Grizzle and Phil Hellmuth. 2005 WSOP TOC with Dannenman, Matusow and Hellmuth 2003 WPT with Mark Seif and Hon Le. 2003 Showdown at the Sands with Greg Kollo whipping Hellmuth a couple of times. And of course the two WPT Tony G Paris episodes. |

I think you need to include the 2003 WSOP ME final table Moneymaker win, if for no other reason than it's historical importance to the online poker boom.

Re: Top 5 all-time favorite poker episodes?
I loved the HSP season 2 episode where the table each paid Matasow money to stay and later he tries to bluff Laak out of a pot that he flopped a flush on. Laak instacalls and Matasow goes off mumbling to Sheiky.
The HSP season 1 episode with Hellmuth insta-shoving twice was priceless. |
