Interesting spot with QQ, how to get value?
Stars 50$ 1R&A.
About 80 of 220 left, think 30 pay. I am around 20th or so. Hero 11K Villan 13K Shorty 4K 150/300 with ante Villan has been fairly active pf in the 3 orbits we have been together, I haven't been. Villan opens, UG to 850. Hero (UG+1) with QQ calls Shorty Raises to 3K (leaving about 1K behind) Villan calls Hero? My thought one the first round, was he had a pretty narrow range (AQ+,pair), a reraise pretty much never gets called by JJ or less, and I have to call, b/c AK will jam there, there isnt any hand that calls, except maybe JJ that is good for me. Plus, I avoid getting stacked if an A falls and he continues strong. Now shorty makes that dumb raise, and he calls? What is my line here? |

Re: Interesting spot with QQ, how to get value?
I think we are deep enough where the 1st call is the right move (without specific reads).
The call (villan) kind of threw me off. Does that narrow his range? Why? Don't get me wrong, having a rule like "the pot is 70% of my stack, I have QQ, push" isn't a bad way to go. I am more interested in people's reason why. Things get a lot more interesting with deeper stacks. |

i like the fist cold call a lot. [/ QUOTE ] More and more lately people have been CC UTG raises with 99+ UTG+1. Most players range is way too strict CC a raise in that pos therefore I never do it because a decent opp as you will get in some of the mid levle tourneys can think at that level. |
