My math is wrong like I figured. Ignore it.
When we 3 bet and get called we only win 14.67BB not 16.67BB which means we win 567.7 BB and lose 183.9BB (profit 383.8) [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] if we just call we profit 429BB. Yeah, yeah, I suck no more math posts for me. I learned something though so I guess that's good. |

woohoo, thanks. good insight. I've settled on calling instead of 3-betting, since I CANNOT fold to a cap. I am not that good.

I can't see a set here a good deal of the time unless the villain is worried about a possible straight draw. I think you caught up on the river. I think I will hear some noise about this, but what about a check on the turn, and raise the river if he bets?

The only time we should be 3balling this river is if we can fold to a cap [/ QUOTE ] fold the river to a cap? did it really cross your mind? lol i think villain play is really more likely with a rivered 2 pair than with a weirdly played QJ. i often see people c/r draws in blindbattle situations, but more rarely when 3-bet. a set is unlikely too. he'd probably have c/r the turn. so mr orange i think you should remove some TTs, 88s, QJ and QJs from your pokerstove calculation, and probably see that 3-betting the river is profitable. |
