Still raise this turn?
20-40 live 9 handed. I have tight image. Very loose and somewhat passive game.
I raise UTG with KcKs and get six callers including the blinds. The flop: Td7d6s Checked to me and I bet, and everyone calls. The turn: Td7d6s4c The Sb now bets(he is super loose preflop and plays rather passively. I am pretty confident he is betting a better hand but will not reraise unless he has the nuts and maybe even not then.) BB calls and now it is up to me. Do I still raise here even though I am confident I am behind? |

Re: Still raise this turn?
I think your should still raise this to knock out the players behind you and possibly clean up a couple two-pair outs as well as charge the flush draws to keep playing. If you're confident he won't re-raise without TT/77/66/44/89/58/35, then you can easily fold to a 3-bet.

It's a matter of board texture: it's coordinated enough (yet not superscary enough) that he can have two pair you're live against and some hands you beat; more importantly, you want a lot of folds behind you. So do one of those things where you take four chips off the top of a stack and slide the rest out there: that usually denotes (and is interpreted as) strength. --Nate |
