Re: Trip Report: Watching an Ex-NBA star play rec league b-ball
For any of you Blazer fans my best friend growing up in Cleveland was Jim's Paxsons son. Jim was GM of the Cavs at the time before getting fired, but he'd play with us in the driveway and hit everything from mid-range.

Because someone mentioned him already, i have to add that Brent Barry was super-nice off the court.
He was at UCLA watching his Beavers get taken down by the Bruins about 8 years ago. I was there cause my buddy played for OSU and left me tickets which ended up being near Barry's seats. He looked at the meager fans for OSU, and ended up getting a guy to come over and let us order anything we wanted. With hamburgers running 6 bucks, and drinks 3, pretzels 3, ect... He ran up a several hundred dollar bill fast with the 50 or so of us sitting there. He also had a smoking-hot chick with him. Good times. |

awesome Barry story. I always assumed him and GP got along up in Seattle due to the OSU connection. Could be a false assumption though.
