srandard rake?
What is a standard rake structure for a B&M room?
I am about to cashout my internet roll to take a shot at some live games around Dallas & was wondering how it is going to affect my profits. I think most rooms are 10% up to $5... Is this too much? |

Re: srandard rake?
Depends what game you are playing. Also some NL games charge by time not rake. Vegas I believe is 10% up to $4 in most limit games with no high hand/ bad beat jackpot ripoff

Re: srandard rake?
10%, $5 max is pretty standard until you get to 10-20, where some rooms begin to take time instead.
NL is usually time. EDIT: I probably should have explained what "time" means. The dealer will collect $x from you (whether you are there or not) every half-hour. It's sort of a charge for occupying a seat. I think time is usually $5 per half at 10-20 and $7 per half at 20-40. After that, I'm not sure. |

Re: srandard rake?
I played at a bar once where the rake was $1 per pot
They used metal slug chips which were dropped into a plastic bucket on the floor. I sat 2 seats from the host who was collecting the rake. The game was $1-1 nl and all the chips were $1. I left after I heard -at least- 6 chips drop into the bucket on one pot. |

Plus that stupid jackpot rake $1 and tip dealer $1 and this is why you don't get too loose under 15-30 taking shot at blinds from cutoff. What you get is not worth what you lose when borderline steal hand gets ate up. |
