ok ok. How does this change if you have AK in this spot? TT?

[/ QUOTE ]

AK I shove or 4-bet. TT is a call for me.

[/ QUOTE ]

What other hands would you shove here with?

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually don't shove that much really, exactly for the reason that it's quite hard to balance your play. I think dbitel put it well in the recent thread when he said that in a vacuum shoving is probably best but 4-betting is better irl since it fits in better with the rest of your play.

auistger,

the blinds are a forced action. thus, that forced bet is the first bet. which is why preflop, you open 'raise' where postflop you 'bet' before you raise.

Kit,

I'm not trying to put you on the spot, but can you explain your thought process a bit for the reasons you fold KQ to his bb reraise here but call with TT.

you have a read he is 4-betting light and you have KQo with position. i think calling with no plans is the worst option. if i were you, i would either 4-bet it pf(smallish and plan to call a push or just push myself), or, call and push almost any flop. including this one. calling with no plan for post flop play regardless that you have position is still -ev because unless you hit the flop(oesd/tp/huge made hand) you aren't going to know what to do. hope this helps.

With TT you can hit a set. When you don't hit a set it basically plays the same as KQ but you're much less likely to be dominated.

At least those are my thoughts, if someone thinks I'm missing something I want to hear it.

Isura/tdb - Thanks for the clarification. I assumed that, but figured I'd ask for once.

jbird,

I fold this preflop as KQ is about the worst possible hand to have against a 3-better OOP's range. ( I believe Kill Phil had a good chapter on this and it came up in NLTAP on calling allin bets.) Since the flop hit, I'm all for potting it here as there are numerous heavy draws that must be forced to pay. The Q9s opens up both flush draws and straight draws. If the board were drier, I might just call behind the maniacs lead here and hope he does it again.
