Foxwoods 10/25
Wicked loose and good game, the past 10 pots have been over 1K.
Villian in this hand is some kid named geno, seems to be playing pretty weak tight. Effective stacks 8K, I have him covered slightly. 2 Limpers to me on the button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], I raise to 150$ total. SB repops to 450$. I call 300$ Flop is Jd 8h 4d He checks. I find this odd but overlook it, and bet 550$ He then counts out 1700 in 100s and gently places them in the middle. I call $1150. Turn is a 3s, he quickly fires 1500$. Thoughts so far? Can you tell me what hand you put him on based on the action so far? What is my line for the rest of the hand? |

Re: Foxwoods 10/25
Geno is soooooo bad, and overplays hands, so id have alot of trouble laying this down, especially to that turn bet. I call him down here and expect to be shown QQ...or AA.

Re: Foxwoods 10/25
i have a hard time putting him on qq or aa. I think he hit a set or he is trying to push you with a draw.

Re: Foxwoods 10/25
Since you classified him as weak tight, I believe his reraise preflop puts his range to AA, KK (not likey, because of your holdings), QQ, AK suited, and possibly jacks, but highly unlikely. Since he is weak, I dont think he will get very tricky with check raises. Probably your typical, "I am going to trap you check raise." This check eliminates AK off, and keeps AA, QQ, JJ, AKdd in his range. This very small bet on the turn is a "I want you to call bet." He bet more after the flop, then he is betting on the turn, and the pot is much bigger. This is either block bet, to slow you down, or a value bet.
My Finals thoughts going into the river in order of what I think he has.. -AA -JJ -AKdd |

Re: Foxwoods 10/25
i have him on JJ. If he were on a flush draw then he would have called the $550 (i think you should have bet pot there).

Re: Foxwoods 10/25
Given villians description as being weak tight I may decide that a check behind on the flop here would be a good play, trying to keep the pot small until we get more information.
Im not sure how villain views you here, if your playing LAG etc. But from the action and his mannerism he appears very comfortable which is leaning towards JJJ or AA. Get to showdown cheapppp |
