hero checks, MP1 checks, Button checks

Turn: (3.16 BB) 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero checks, MP1 checks, button checks.

River: (3.16 BB) K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero bets, Villain raises, button folds,Hero folds???

I know this may seem weak but something just didn't feel right in this hand. If I didn't pair up on the river I was Check folding. Even hitting the pair is check-folding still the right play? What about check-call? (am I ahead often enough in this small pot?) This guy is way too aggressive to be not betting on this board.

if that's a significant sample size this is a good fold. he has AK, AA or KK here always.

there's a pretty good chance you're up against a full house.

nevertheless, if you estimate your chances of winning to be 19% or better you should call.

i would call though. he could be putting you on a bluff trying to take down the pot, from his point of view it looks like you either flopped a full house or are bluffing.

That's one of my questions about this hand. I was very tempted to check-fold even with the river K.

As played I would fold to that raise.

Without further reads on this aggressive villain I think a check-call is better at the river.

Check/fold, you're splitting at best.

Fold if you trust your read. Call if you don't.

A different line would make it pretty close on check/call or check fold. Check call if you want to work on your read. Check fold if you already have it.
