[ QUOTE ] I laughed out loud reading evg's post... You've most likely got less than 8 outs - do the math and consider what both opponents would plausibly have on that flop. [/ QUOTE ] FYP and then some. [/ QUOTE ] Nice hand converter though. Is 97 the new JTs and why wasn't I told? |

Ok, of course you're all right - sometimes I don't really think and just feel like gambling.
I made the call and it turned out to be "correct" as they turned over 8-5o and A-6o, giving me 13 outs. I guess I got what I deserved when the turn and river were both Queens. |

Grunch:
Fold preflop, fold flop. You are very lucky you had lots of outs here. Porbably 95% of the time you are drawing to a straight and even then, the potisn't giving you enough to call with only 8 outs. 1.78:1 to call, you have 8 outs in the most likely best case scenario, so you would need to be getting ~ 5.75:1 to make a call correct. Fold. |

I don't understand the preflop play, you have 50 bb's, ...
no need to panic... typical end of tourney w 50 bb's and a call with 97... (cliffnotes) Flop T97, (giving the guy your about to stack a nice hand with his pocket tens) you then exit tourney, spending the next 2 hours wondering why you spewed 50 bb's w 97o... Unless you are an amazing talent, I dun't know how this hand is a call PF with the action ahead of you. Postflop... you should throw the hand away, it's value is minimal with that action, 4 outs are the best case scenario... Make a rule to not make plays without thinking about it, put opponents on a range ...consider position, blinds etc... one bad play is all it takes to hit the exit... |
